The unforgettable French actor, known across the world as much for his eccentric personality as his acting prowess, Gerard Depardieu was scheduled to perform two concerts as part of the 2017 Monte Carlo Summer Sporting Festival.

Organisers of the event have announced that the concert scheduled for 26th July 2017 will no longer to take place, although the concert on 27th July will go ahead as planned.

Gerard Depardieu had a close friendship with the singer, known only as Barbara, before she died in 1997. Still seen as the 'Queen of French Song', Depardieu teamed up with Gérard Daguerre, Barbara's faithful pianist, twenty years after her death and together, they recorded an album in tribute.

As part of the 2017 Monte Carlo Summer Sporting Festival, the actor was originally scheduled to give two performances of the show Depardieu Chante Barbara. Due to "reasons related to his agenda" there will now be on one performance on the 27th July 2017.

Those who already have tickets for the 26th July performance are invited to exchange their seats for the 27th July or to claim a refund.
