Les Ballets de Monte Carlo nominated for an Olivier Award
The Olivier Awards 2016 will mark another remarkable year of outstanding theatre performance. Now in its 40th anniversary year the awards ceremony promises to be an incredible evening of unique performances, stunning surprises and a fantastic celebration of London’s finest performances and productions.
Nominated for one of those awards is Monaco's very own Les Ballets de Monte Carlo ballet company. The Ballets’ Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot and currently being performed in the London Coliseum has been nominated in the category of Best New Dance Production.
British theatre’s most sought-after awards have been a mark of theatrical greatness since they were inaugurated in 1976 as the Society of West End Theatre Awards. The Olivier Awards take their name from the late great Sir Laurence Olivier; one of the truly iconic figures of the London stage, and for many the greatest actor of his, any and every generation.
The awards ceremony will take place on 3rd April 2016 at the Royal Opera House in London. You will also have the chance to see this fantastic company in action in Monaco from 28th April until the 1st May 2016 when they will be performing a series of ballets to celebrate their 30th year anniversary.
