Royals bloom at Monaco Rose Ball 2017
Beatrice glows in first appearance since birth of her son
The royals of Monaco were out in all their splendour last weekend at the annual gala Monte-Carlo's Bal de la Rose, a magnificent dinner party in support of the Princess Grace Foundation.
New parents Beatrice Borromeo & Pierre Casiraghi made their first appearance together since the birth of their son at the end of February. The new mother was glowing and looked fresh faced in a beautiful navy dress with diamond embellishments, showing no sign of any sleepless nights.
The belle of the ball however, was Pierre's mother, Princess Caroline. Wearing a bold black-and-white number with diamond-shaped patterns, hand-drawn roses, and layers of ruffles that were designed to mirror the evening’s floral theme. The Princess, once again, showed just how classy she can be.
Her daughter, Charlotte, was also inspired by her mother's timeless elegance as she wore a vintage Chanel dress from the 1996 haute couture collection that was covered in lace vines. The dress did, in fact, belong to her mother and was worn by Princess Caroline in Monte-Carlo in December 2000.
This year, the theme of choice was the Art Nouveau period in Austria, inspired by the Vienna Secession movement and exemplified by the work of Gustav Klimt and Otto Wagner. Fashion designer and family friend to the Monaco royals, Karl Lagerfeld, was responsible for the interior decor and himself looked resplendent in his trade-mark black suit, black gloves and sunglasses.
