Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo welcome a baby boy

The Royal couple raised suspicions last November when Beatrice's baby bump was spotted at Monaco's National Day 2016 celebrations.

Born on Tuesday 28th February 2017, this is the first child for Casiraghi and Borromeo. The new parents were married in the summer of 2015, once in a civil ceremony in the gardens of the Palace of Monaco and then again in a religious ceremony in Italy.

Pierre Casiraghi is the son of Princess Caroline and the nephew of Prince Albert, the reigning monarch of Monaco. He is currently seventh in line to the throne.

The royal baby has been confirmed as a boy but the name has not yet been revealed. Reports of the birth first surfaced on Tuesday when Borromeo’s older sister, Matilde, posted an Instagram picture with the caption: “28/2/2017 new day in the calendar of my family.”

The new mother is expected to make her first post-baby outing later this month at the Bal de la Rose, the lavish Monaco royal ball hosted each year in March. She turned heads in 2016 with a stunning red dress by Italian designer Giambattista Valli.

We wish the new family well and look forward to hearing the name!
