The investigation team looking into the data recovered from the Germanwings plane crash on March 24th have confirmed that the co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, was indeed responsible for the crash.

The information they've managed to gather from the final few minutes of the flight, shows that the co-pilot "intentionally set the autopilot instructions to control a descent of the aircraft until its collision with ground".

The crash which claimed 150 lives, was speculated to have been an intentional act, and this has now been proven by the investigation team in their preliminary report.

The clean up operation to recover wreckage of the plane has now finished, but decontamination of the site is still ongoing.

Since the crash the European Union's aviation authority have tightened its safety recommendations and urged all airlines to always have 2 people inside the cockpit of an aircraft in flight.
