Diamonds are forever in Monaco

Art installation by Charles Kaisin at Casino de Monte-Carlo

Belgian designer and architect, Charles Kaisin, has created a scenographic work based on a motif of red and white diamonds, a powerful symbol evoking both the Monaco’s coat of arms and the world of card games, at the Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco.

For the “Let’s Fall in Diamonds” installation, the decor, furnishings and works of art are all drawn from the company’s iconic heritage (casino, hotels, restaurants). Over 600 pieces have been specially decorated for the occasion, each one bringing history back to life in a defiantly contemporary new red and white skin that preserves and sublimes all at once.

The installation covers the entire atrium and rotunda of the Casino de Monte-Carlo, with floor to ceiling diamond-patterned fabric and furniture, fixtures and fittings. A specially created fragrance is gently diffused, imprinting itself on each visitor’s memory as they move through the space to the rhythm of the musical ambience, custom-designed by a Belgian DJ. A complete immersion in an original interactive experience.

The installation will be in place from 14th October 2017 until 7th January 2018. Open daily from 10:00 and free to visit, the exhibition includes a bedroom, salon, dining area, and even a bathroom. You are invited to come and relax, take a photo, or have a drink at the bar. If you are very keen then you can try to count the number of diamonds that are included in the exhibition and try to win a 2-night stay at Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo.
