The UEFA celebrated their annual ceremony to commemorate the European Club Football Season Kick-Off yesterday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Some of the best football players of all times were present.

The group stage draw for this season's Champions League took place at the event, where they also gave the awards for Best Players of the year. These were monopolised by the current Champions League victors, the Real Madrid. Luka Modriฤ‡ took home the prize for UEFA Men's Player of the Year as well as Best Midfielder, while Cristiano Ronaldo was named Best Forward, Sergio Ramos Best Defender, and Keylor Navas Best Goalkeeper. Pernille Harder was chosen as UEFA Women's Player of the Year.

A constellation of sports stars descended on Monaco to attend the gala. The red carpet saw the likes of Kaká, Roberto Carlos, Mo Salah, Figo, and Totti, as well as the awards winners. All but Cristiano Ronaldo who stayed in Turin. David Beckham and his wife Victoria were also there, as the British player won the UEFA President's Award for his "outstanding achievements, professional excellence and exemplary personal qualities." The Beckhams have been holidaying in the Cote d'Azur with her children and friends Elton John and David Furnish so their trip to Monaco couldn't have been very long.
