Free tickets to watch Leo in Monaco
Screening of 'Before the Flood' on Thursday 10th November 2016
The Foundation Prince Albert II de Monaco is offering free tickets to a screening of Leonardo DiCaprio's climate change documentary 'Before the Flood'.
The screening is due to take place at the cinema Beaux Arts on Thursday 10th November 2016 at 17:15. The film was produced by a collaboration between director Fisher Stevens, Leonardo DiCaprio, James Packer, Brett Ratner, Trevor Davidoski, and Jennifer Davisson Killoran. Close friend to DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, is an executive producer.
The documentary, filmed over three years, sees DiCaprio travel the globe to document the devastating impact of climate change and to question humanity's ability to reverse the damage.
“Try to have a conversation with anyone about climate change and people just tune out,” says DiCaprio. “We wanted to create a film that gave people a sense of urgency, that made them understand what particular things are going to solve this problem. We bring up the issue of a carbon tax, for example, which I haven’t seen in a lot of documentaries. Basically, sway a capitalist economy to try to invest in renewables, to bring less money and subsidies out of oil companies.”
Well known for his interest in the environment, Leo also has his own foundation which is dedicated to the long-term health and wellbeing of all Earth’s inhabitants.
Tickets are limited and can be picked up from the Foundation office at 16 boulevard de Suisse.
