Monte-Carlo casino scam

Gamblers who cheated Monte-Carlo Casino jailed

The story is not quite as exciting or intriguing as the elaborate plot of Ocean's Eleven, but two Italian gamblers have been jailed for cheating at the English roulette tables in the infamous Casino of Monte-Carlo.

The two men had already been banned from casinos in their native country of Italy and lady luck eventually left them last weekend in Monaco. The surveillance cameras and inspectors of the Casino de Monte-Carlo captured their sleight of hand as the pair moved chips to straddle numbers given by the roulette ball.

Their defence lawyer justified the situation by saying that they would repay their debts to the casino and that the game was a way to escape a dull life for the men in question.

Not quite the Brad Pitt and George Clooney combination we may have hoped for!
