Surf Champ Becomes Latest Ambassador for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation
The American surfer Nic Lamb will develop projects in the United States
Launched on 14th December 2012, the primary objective of The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is to save lives by putting an end to drowning, raising public awareness about the dangers of water, teaching children preventive measures, and teaching them to swim.
As an ex-Olympic swimmer this is an area close to the Princesses heart. In addition, the foundation is equally involved in communicating the values of all sport such as discipline, respect for oneself and for others, determination and teamwork.
At the end of July the American surfer, Nic Lamb, was announced as the latest in a long list of sporting heroes to work as Ambassador for the foundation, joining the likes of race car driver Jenson Button, tennis player Novak Djokovic, swimmer Dara Torres and skier Aksel Lund Svindal.
Born in Santa Cruz, California in 1988, Nic started surfing at the age of five. He started competing and winning at the age of 9 in Cape Town, South Africa. Nic is the youngest surfer, at age 15, to have taken on Mavericks, a world renowned surf spot in northern California.
Nic now competes full time on the World Surf League Big Wave Tour where he came in first place during the Punta Galea Challenge in December 2014. Known in the surfing world as a “big wave chaser”, he has all his energy focussed and sights set on winning a world title. The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is happy to count on Nic Lamb’s enthusiasm and passion to develop its projects in the United States.
