Part of the World Padel Tour, the second edition of Monte-Carlo Padel Masters took place last week at Chapiteau de Fontvieille, in the centre of Monaco. Played in doubles, this racket sport is especially popular in Spain, Argentina and Portugal.

The world number one couple, Argentinian Fernando Belasteguín and Brazilian Pablo Lima, won the men's championship while Spanish Alejandra Salazar and Marta Marrero, current world number two, took the first prize in the women's category. This was a special victory for Lima, who had just become a father.

Before the finals, an exhibition match took place to promote padel among the general public. Players included French national football coach Didier Deschamps, football player Cyril Rool, and tennis player Thomas Johansson.
