Fete Nationale de Monaco

Every November 19th, the Monegasques celebrate the most important day of the year in the Principality, 'La Fete du Prince' or 'Fete Nationale'. The date has changed throughout the years to coincide with the reigning prince's patron saint day but Prince Albert II decided to keep it on November 19th when his father Prince Rainier III was enthroned, which is also Saint Rainier's day. Festivities start early with solemn mass at Monaco Cathedral, followed by a reception by the royal family at the palace's cour d'honneur. Celebrations take place all over town starting the evening before including live music, folklore, food, drink and more.

Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival

The 13th edition of the prestigious Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival takes place from mid-November to the end of the month at the Opera Garnier. Open to all jazz styles, this year's lineup features Bobby McFerrin, Grégory Porter, The Amazing Keystone Big Band and Benjamin Violay among others.

No Finish Line

Created in 1999, the No Finish Line is a very special charity run. As the name suggests, there is no finish line but a 1,400m circuit that participants can run as many times as they want. Open 24 hours for eight days, runners earn €1 per kilometre, which goes to the 'Children & Future' charity. Around 14,000 participants will gather at the Chapiteau de Fontvielle where two famous French actresses, Rebecca Hampton and Stephanie Pareja, will officially kick off the event on November 10th at 14:00.

Funfair

Monaco's 'Foire Attractions' is set up every autumn at Port Hercule, coinciding with the 'Toussaint' school holidays. This is a traditional funfair with dozens of attractions as well as typical carnival food and drinks. Access is free but you need to pay for the amusement rides.

Monte-Carlo Gastronomie

From November 23rd to 26th, the Chapiteau de Monaco turns into a foodie heaven thanks to the Monte-Carlo Gastronomie Festival. Already in its 23rd year, hundreds of exhibitors will showcase their finest produce from foie-gras to caviar and seafood, champagne, wine, oil, meat, cheese, sweets and other delicacies. There will also be talks, workshops, live cooking shows, contests and raffle tickets to win gourmet prizes. The perfect place to shop for the festive season.
