The Monte-Carlo Television Festival is one of the most prestigious gatherings in the TV industry. Its awards ceremony took place last Tuesday, 19th June, presided by Princess Charlene of Monaco who walked the red carpet together with many stars of the small screen.

The Nymphes d'Or, the name of the award, were granted in three different categories: fiction, news and special prizes. British drama 'Little Boy Blue' won the golden nymph for best long fiction show while its star Sinéad Keenan took home the award for best actress in the same category and Ewan McGregor was chosen as best actor in 'Fargo'.

Within the TV comedy section, the awards went to British show 'The End of the F***ing World', actor Tony Shalhoub of 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' and actress Daisy May Cooper for 'This Country'. The best drama golden nymph was granted to Netflix Spanish phenomenon 'Money Heist' while the best actor was Johannes Lassen from 'Below the Surface' and the best actress was Lynn Van Royen from 'Hotel Beau Sejour'.

There were also prizes for best documentary ('Abuse and the UN'), best live coverage ('Zimbabwe'), best coverage ('Libya Slave Auction') and a jury award (''Mosul'). The special prize Prince Rainier III went to 'A Plastic Whale' and 'Forest Blind' while the audience's awards were granted to 'Scorpion', 'Lethal Weapon' and 'The Bold and the Beautiful'.

The red carpet hosted a selection of glammed-up stars from the TV firmament including actresses Eleanor Tomlinson ('Poldark'), Joanne Froggatt ('Downton Abbey') and Jessica Brown Findlay ('Downton Abbey' and 'Harlots'), as well as Neal McDonough ('Minority Report'), Pedro Alonso ('Money Heist') or Charles Esten ('Nashville').
