Prince Albert of Monaco turned 60 last Wednesday and Monegasques were treated to a multi-sensory experience at the country's 19th-century cathedral.

The stunning building, which has been the setting of the royal family's main events including Rainier and Grace Kelly's weddings and their funerals, was turned into a fantasy world thanks to images projected on its walls representing the Four Elements. Live music was provided by around 150 musicians and singers from Monaco's most important ensembles, including the Monte-Carlo Opera Choir, the Petits Chanteurs and the Monte-Carlo Philarmonic Orchestra.

Prince Albert also celebrated in private with his wife and children. Princess Charlene shared two pics on Instagram showing him blowing out the candles on a chocolate cake together with their 3-year-old twins Gabriella and Jacques. A biography of the prince, "Albert II of Monaco, The Man and The Prince" was also published to mark the occasion. Ith includes interviews with the princely couple as well as with Albert's sisters, Caroline and Stephanie.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, who turned 40 on January 25th, will host a joint "Happy 100th" (60 plus 40) celebration for the public this summer.
