French authorities are advising caution to drivers travelling at night, as a gang of fake police officers have been stopping cars to rob them on the side of the roads.

The gang are allegedly targeting foreign registered cars, with the majority of robberies happening between 2-6am. They appear to be police officers, but the authorities have stated that no official car stops would be made by the police at the roadside or side of the motorway as its not safe.

If you're not sure who it is trying to pull you over, drive on and alert the police.
