The month of May begins with a festival of roses and continues with plenty of art, culture and music. Throw one of the biggest sporting events into the mix and the month of May truly delivers!

A week into May and we come up smelling of roses! For a full floral experience, you can't get much better than the stunning villa of Ephrussi de Rothschild celebrating the blooms in their garden with guided tours, exhibitions of prize winning roses and much more at their Fete des Roses & des Plantes

Or if you are more of an animal lover than a green finger botanist then the Monaco International Dog Show will be taking place and celebrating 90 years of competition.

Amazing Sundays at Nikki Beach Monaco

All along the Cote d'Azur you are never far from a beach club and some cocktails. Starring opposite Serge Gainsbourg in the film Slogan, Jane Birkin embarked on a love affair with France, music and Gainsbourg himself. After a glittering career, the actress, singer and fashion icon will be in concert in Monaco. On 11 May 2017 the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo will welcome her for a new tribute to Serge Gainsbourg where she will be accompanied by the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Monaco is well known for it's love of all things car...vintage cars, supercars, electric cars, racing cars, James Bond cars...you name it, they love it! From 11th to 14th May, Monaco brings you the vintage side motor racing to Monaco with the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco. 50 years of motor racing will be commemorated with eight events, contested on the legendary circuit of Monaco.

Following the iconic Jane Birkin, we find Ben l'Oncle Soul in concert in the middle of May. In his new album Ben pays homage to the legendary crooner, Frank Sinatra. A project full of boldness which propels us into another dimension, where Soul, Blues, Reggae and Jazz meet. The French Soulman brings back some of the great standards of Jazz popularised by Frank Sinatra in modern and bright soul.

Sean Edwards Memorial Bike Ride

The Sean Edwards Foundation have put into gear the fourth annual Monaco Bike Ride in remembrance of Sean. Drivers and friends of Sean’s attended and supported the Foundation that bears his name, its vital role in raising awareness of and implementing changes to enhance driver safety on the track worldwide. The ride will take participants from the principality of Monaco along the coast and into Italy.

You can register to take part and enjoy this stunning bike ride alongside some of the famous F1 drivers. Registration is €300 per person, children under the age of 12 ride for free. Registration includes your riders number, day insurance and an SEF cycling jersey.

The Monaco Grand Prix

Saving the best until last, the month is rounded off with one the biggest sporting events in the world, the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. Never short on drama this is always one of the most anticipated events in the F1 calendar. Along with a number of temporary grandstands built around the circuit, the rich and famous will arrive on their boats and the yachts in the harbour will fill with spectators. Balconies of hotels and residents apartments offer a birds eye views of the race. 

The infamous Amber Lounge Monaco will also be hosted star-studded events across the weekend, including their iconic Amber Lounge Fashion Show.
