What's On in Monaco During 2017

The one event that everyone knows about, reads about, gossips about and generally wants to be at, is of course the Monaco Grand Prix. Renowned the world over for bringing together the multi-million euro sport of Formula One racing, A-list celebrities and those who just want to be seen and to enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of a luxury yacht.

But that's not all this beautiful coastal Principality, nestled in the French Riviera, has to offer the discerning tourist. From film to dance, creativity to technology and historical to modern, Monaco has a jammed packed year ahead in 2017.


January

An action packed January sees the Monte-Carlo Rally 2017 racing through the southern Alpes to Monaco. Broadcast live for the first time on Redbull TV you can follow all the action...although it's always better to be at the finish line in person!

The Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival is another top attraction and one that brings entertainment for all the family. Hosted over ten days, some of the world's best circus performers come to Monaco to show off their talents.

February

The year starts off a little 'fruity' as the neighbouring French town of Menton hosts the marvellous Grande Fete du Citron - yep....a lemon festival! And it really does have to be seen to be believed, the town is covered in citrus fruit, from sculptures, floats, costumes and everything lemon themed, flavoured and coloured. A great event for all the family, you will find it full of surprises.

March

March sees a more sporting side of Monaco, as the Monaco Run takes place in the middle of the month. With the milder temperatures at the beginning of the year this makes for a pleasant running race around the Principality. There are three courses to choose from: the Riviera Classic (23.8km), the Monte-Carlo (10km), and the 5km Walk...so there are no excuses for not taking part!

April

The sporting theme continues into April as Monaco welcomes some of the biggest names in International tennis. The Monte-Carlo Masters is an ATP tennis tournament that brings together the top male tennis players for a clay court competition. Rafael Nadal has dominated the event in previous years, taking the trophy back in 2016 after a victory for Novak Djokovic in 2015. Book tickets well in advance, especially for the later stages of the competition!

And before the month is out Monaco hosts the incredible Top Marques Monaco event which showcases some fo the greatest supercars in the world. Monaco is well known for its love of fast, expensive and highly unusual cars and so where else would you have the greatest supercar show on earth! Plus, the Royal family are serious 'petrol-heads'!

May

The next big event to hit Monaco is the Monaco F1 Grand Prix, the most anticipated event of the year. One of the 12 stages, Monaco is the sixth event in the 2017 series. Reaching a speed of 170km/h round the streets of the small Principality of Monaco this is a sight to behold. There is no doubt that 2017 will bring with it controversy, drama and some hot gossip from the sidelines...

June

Coming into the summer and Monaco follows Cannes on the International Jumping calendar. of the biggest and most exciting events on the French Riviera, the Cannes Jumping International, the four-day equestrian event in Cannes is followed by the Monte-Carlo Jumping International from 22nd to 24th June. These events attract a high calibre of riders and horses from around the globe. "Suspense, emotion and sporting prowess are the hallmarks of this stage of the Global Champions Tour."

July / August

The summer months in Monaco are all about the wonderful beach clubs, sunning yourself on the deck of a private yacht and of course, fireworks! The Monte-Carlo International Fireworks Festival is a sight to behold. Top-quality pyrotechnic displays which feature music, rhythm and melody hand in hand with the fireworks. A very powerful sound system is installed over the whole area of Port Hercule, allowing spectators to fully enjoy these exceptional shows from “Avenue d’Ostende” as well as from “Quai Albert 1er”.

September

As we enter the autumnal months and the wind begins to pick up the stage is set for the annual The Monaco Yacht Show, one of the largest megayacht events. Created in 1991, the show has grown to become the ultimate luxury rendezvous for the international elite clientele, with classic yachts, luxury yachts and some of the best yacht parties in the industry.

Sprinkled throughout the year are of course, balls, gala dinners, music concerts, traditional festivals and some of the biggest and best celebrity parties on the Cote d'Azur...we might not get an invite for all of these!
