featured in Hiking & walking routes Updated

A moderate hike to the summit of Cime de Baudon 1264m where you are welcomed with magnificent views of the crashing blue waves of the Mediterranean to the south and the snow capped mountains to the north.

The village of Peille is notable for its narrow streets, small squares and architecture dating back to the medieval period. The small commune, perched high on a rock at 650m, lies between Monaco and Menton and overlooks the River Peillon.

Directions

Starting at the parking near the north of the village you must head north towards Col du St-Bernard via Route du Barri. Following a forest track that soon takes a sharp left and takes you through a pine forest via a wide track. This track climbs gently in a easterly direction. The path is exposed here and will get a great deal of sun due to its southerly aspect. Follow the trail around the mountain rising until you hit the junction near the summit. Take a right and head towards the summit for the amazing views.

On your descent turn left when you hit the trail and continue on the north side of the mountain towards Crete des Assalins. Continue south west along this trail until you reach the trail that was used for the ascent. Take a right and continue back to the Col du St-Bernard and back to the village of Peille.
