Plage des Fossettes Beach
A fine pebbly beach great for snorkelling
Plage des Fossettes is just a stone’s throw from its neighbour, Plage des Fosses; they are both great family beaches with enclosed waters that are always fairly calm.
Plage des Fossettes is unusual in that it's one of the few beaches along the Riviera that is entirely public; there are no restaurants here and therefore no facilities for hiring deckchairs or parasols.
There are cold showers but no toilets, so come prepared! Snacks and picnics can be bought in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés in the port, which is only a few minutes walk away.
The only parking is along residential streets and it can be very hard to find a space, so you are best taking the no.81 bus to the port and walking from there.

Setting & Location
As with the neighbouring beach of Plage des Fosses, it's just a few minutes walk from the Port of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat.
Water Safety & Clarity
The water is crystal clear and you’ll often see children wading out with fishing nets to see what they can catch; watch out for jellyfish though.
If you have a snorkel and mask this is a great beach for exploring - there is even a “sentier sous-marin”, or “underwater footpath”. Look out for the white floats bobbing along one side of the bay and follow them along the foot of the cliffs to see the different plants and creatures that live there. There is a guide just beside the lifeguard hut. There is a lifeguard here during peak season.
Beach Quality
The beach is made up of fine pebbles. It’s fine underfoot but not very comfortable to lie on, so bring a big beach towel.
