La Plage d'Eze Beach, Eze

A great beach for swimmers and watersports fans

featured in Beaches Updated

Eze-Sur-Mer has only one beach but it’s a lovely one; great for swimming as the water comes very high up the beach and it's in a calm bay.

This is a good beach for swimming, dining and sailing, as well as having decent facilities, toilets and showers, there are two restaurants and plenty of watersports activities.

The beach itself is public so showers are provided but you will find two private beach clubs with their own restaurants, sun loungers and parasols.

Beach Bars & Beachclubs in Monaco

The two restaurants along the beach have very different vibes - from the sophisticated elegance of Papaya Beach to the ramshackle kitsch of Anjuna Bay. They both serve fresh local seafood as well as salads, meat dishes and pasta. You can reserve a sun-lounger and parasol at either for a per day rental fee.

Water Safety & Clarity

The sea is wonderfully clear and that typical shade of azure blue that tempts you in.

Beach Quality

The pebbles are small and fairly smooth, not as fine as some but definitely easier on the feet than those at Nice. The beach itself is a fairly thin ribbon of sunbathing space, the tide comes quite high up the shore making it easy to keep an eye on paddling children.

Watersports Nearby

There is a Club Nautique about halfway along the beach offering kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving and sailing. They also have a few rubber dinghies harboured in the bay for those who just want to bob about and have a bit of fun. Their staff speak French with smatterings of English and Italian.

Directions

Access to the beach is easiest from the train station, via the underpass that goes beneath the tracks then along a small road until you reach some steps. You’ll find yourself at the quieter end of the beach furthest away from the restaurants.

If you arrive by bus you can hop off at David or Cap Roux and access the beach from a tunnel near to the Post Office or via Chemin de l'Ortigué at the western end of town.
